Julián is both a sculptor and a painter, and his artwork in each discipline reflects his intense personality and desire to express himself. "I express myself best through sculpture," he explains. "The key difference is the direct contact I have with the materials. Each material has its own personality, much like people do. Depending on the subject I want to depict, I choose the material that fits best. For me, the distinction between painting and sculpture is that, with sculpture, I feel like I am a part of the work."
